The Dark Knight

The latest batman adaptation pure genius. If you haven't watched it, you'd be missing out on a piece of history in the making.

This is no ordinary comic book hero story and exceeds its predecessors in all departments, CGI, story, acting, the works. The setting is a Gotham in chaos, unwilling to accept the vigilante Batman who takes the law into his own hands. The Falcone family are helpless against the caped crusader until the Joker comes along. All hell breaks loose from there.

There's a star studded cast to look out for; Aaron Eckhart's fierce portrayal of DA Harvey Dent, Gary Oldman's incorruptible yet vulnerable Commissioner Gordon, Michael Caine as the supportive and sarcastic Alfred, Morgan Freeman as Lucious Fox and Christian Bale as the tormented hero of course, among other names. One to mention is our very own Singaporean actor Chin Han who plays Lau, a helper to the crime lords.

All their roles are vital if not overshadowed by the late Heath Ledger's Joker, who made it so believable and different from Nicholson's. He became the Joker, period.

There is a mix of action, a strange love triangle, politics, crime, gadgets, explosions and enough twists to keep the movie enthralling. Christopher Nolan makes the characters believable and paces the movie well enough to keep you entertained for the 152 min running time.

Whether you're a die hard comic book fan or just like to catch a superb movie which is definitely worth your money, then don't miss The Dark Knight.
